I’m homesick for the days when I was constantly reminded that my parents worried about me. Trust has overtaken their concern and where there was once an under-appreciated comfort there is now a frightening emptiness. Maybe I’m just feeling sorry for myself and all this is just for the birds.

Sometimes when I think no one is watching I practice frowning. The thing is, I can’t frown. I think my muscles don’t work that way, and while many would say not having the functionality to frown could only be a good thing..I’d rather overcome something I’m not naturally designed to do. If successful at frowning I figure I’m ready to try breathing under water
