Had breakfast at the Suzie-Q Cafe with the adorable Sarah T. This is one of my favorite places for greasy fair, particularly after a night of alcohol over-consumption. Inside is small, seating maybe 8 people and its filled with consignment store finds. The sign hanging below the take-out window is an advert for Levey The Great, a local magician and, naturally, the proprietor of the Suzie-Q. His magic tricks I’ve never seen but I imagine they are nothing short of amazing, like how the smell of Suzie-Q grease stays on your clothes for the remainder of the day.

This is a community more than a place of eat, the same people coming in each day at the same time. They’re the odd under-world type people that while totally friendly, would never approach you for a hello in any other environment.

Funny little place so dear to my heart
